Craig Cargile is the District Judge

of Bibb County, Alabama.

Judge Cargile was raised in the Woodstock area. He attended Woodstock Elementary School. His father, George Cargile, taught and coached at West Blocton High School for over 25 years. His mother, Carol Cargile, has been a nurse in the Woodstock clinic for almost 30 years. After completing his undergraduate degree at Rhodes College in Memphis, he returned to the University of Alabama School of Law. He graduated and passed the bar in 2004.

Judge Cargile lives in Centreville with his wife, Mallory, and their four children: Emma, George, Vann and Amelia. He serves as the Minister of Music for Centreville Baptist Church. He played in the Cahaba River Band that has performed at local churches and community events such as Woodstock Music Festival, the banquets for the Bibb Chamber of Commerce, Sav-a-Life, the Gideons, and the Civitans, the Senior Center Christmas Program, the July 4th Celebration on the Green, Town of Woodstock Christmas Tree Lighting, Christmas on the Square, and the Tannehill Opry. Judge Cargile is also a board member for the Bibb Family Connections and Family Counseling Service of West Alabama. In 2017, Judge Cargile participated in the UAB Living Donor program and donated a kidney to a police officer.

Professionally, Judge Cargile has spent his entire legal career working in Bibb County. He maintained an office in Centreville from 2006 through 2018. He has served as the president of the Bibb County Bar Association, and the municipal prosecutor for the City of Centreville. He was named a B-Metro Top Attorney in 2016, 2017 and 2018. He was involved with the leadership of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the Alabama State Bar. He has been featured as a speaker at the Alabama Young Lawyers' Conference in 2015 and 2016. Judge Cargile is a 2014 graduate of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum, a program recognized by the American Bar Association for its "innovative, thoughtful and exceptional content, for its powerful and continuing impact on emerging leaders in the bar community and for the extraordinary example it has established that others may emulate."

Since taking the bench in 2019, Judge Cargile has secured grants in excess of $50,000 to help provide resources for families in need in Bibb County. In 2022, he was selected by the Administrative Office of Courts to speak at the guardian ad litem recertification seminar. This certification is required every year for any attorney who represents children in the State of Alabama. Judge Cargile has continued to learn all that he can to better serve. In addition to practicing in Bibb County since 2005 and being on the bench since 2019, he has completed hundreds of hours of additional training. In 2019, he attended a two-week General Jurisdiction training at the National Judicial College in Nevada. He has also faithfully attended the conferences available for Alabama judges.

Judge Cargile has the knowledge and experience necessary to continue to serve Bibb County in an efficient and fair manner.
